The trio had to get into a trough full of mud and use their hands, trowels or buckets to dig for buried objects before dating them and placing them on a timeline.
They started slowly, with Bex complaining: "It's so hard. I can't find anything."
However, Stu told them: "You're being too meticulous! Start moving quickly, just cover the whole surface."
After an hour of digging, the three archaeologists had found seven items and placed them on the timeline.
These were a rock, fossilised turtle faeces, a coin, a carriage clock, a tin of cigars, a doll and a Big Brother token.
