Sonam Kapoor heads to New York

Sonam Kapoor has enrolled in an acting course in New York and will begin her lessons this summer.

The 23-year-old daughter of Anil Kapoor will head to the Big Apple to improve her acting credentials in a bid to bag herself bigger roles.

It is rumoured that her actor dad is not pleased by his daughter’s plans as he feels that her absence from Mumbai will be detrimental to her career in the long term.

Sonam is from a prolific Bollywood acting dynasty – her grandfather was the filmmaker Surinder Kapoor, she is the niece of Boney Kapoor and her younger sister Rhea is poised to make her acting debut.

Rhea will help her dad produce the forthcoming film Ayesha, which stars Sonam and is a remake of Jane Austen’s Emma.
