The Indian actress was accused by Kapoor of taking advantage of her celebrity status to get more media attention for the release of Kaminey, which is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj.
Chopra told the Times Of India that the wealth of talent behind the film meant that no cheap shots were needed to make it a success.
"It is produced by an established film corporation. It has Shahid Kapoor in a double role. It has me playing a Maharashtrian woman and so on," she said.
"It definitely doesn't need anyone else or anything else to get it publicity. Thank you, but no thank you!"
