Director Anurag Basu will join the co-stars on the red carpet as they attempt to promote the movie to an international audience.
The film's producer Rakesh Roshan, who is Hrithik's father, said: "We hope to pitch Kites as our production house's first truly international product. Cannes is a very important venue for international cinema. That's why we've made sure to complete the film in time. Anurag and I have been working against time to do so, but we've managed."
The Las Vegas-based movie sees Hrithik play a salsa teacher who falls in love with one of his students.
Kites, which also features Kangana Ranaut, is scheduled for release later this summer.
