Rajesh Khanna to get lifetime achievement award

The former screen star made his debut in Aakhri Khat in 1966 and went on to star in hits such as Khamoshi, Aradhana and Aurat. He made a recent return to the industry after spending five years as an MP.
IIFA director Sabbas Joseph commented: "We honour Mr Khanna, who has undoubtedly defined romance in Indian films.
He is considered as the first superstar of Indian cinema and has influenced an entire genre of romantic movies, creating a legendary persona that strikes a chord with the youth, even today."
Other recipients of lifetime achievement awards will include playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, and actors Waheeda Rahman, Mumtaz and Dharmendra.
