Roshan was reportedly eager to work with Bharadwaj after being impressed by his critically-acclaimed Maqbool, an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth.
A source told The Times of India: “After Maqbool, Vishal and Hrithik wanted to work together. Finally, they have a script which both are excited about and committed to.
“There have been rumours that Vishal’s next film will be an adaptation of Hamlet, but that’s not true. This time he is making a completely original film.”
The movie will feature two female characters, although these roles have yet to be cast.
