Shah Rukh Khan rejects Thackeray part

Ashutosh Gowariker, who directed Khan in Swades, approached the actor about portraying the part, however, Khan was not keen to reunite their partnership after their initial film flopped at the box office, reports The Times Of India.
“Ashutosh even told Shah Rukh that they could co-produce the film and he had no issues with Shah Rukh's style of working on commission basis. But even this did not evoke a favourable response,” a source told the newspaper.
Marathi film and stage actor Ashok Shinde has now been lined up to play the politician it has been speculated that he bears semblance to.
