The two last acted together 12 years ago in Akshaye’s debut film Himalaya Putra.
In an interview with IANS, he said: "Dad is a superb actor and my idol. At the moment there is no project in the pipeline. Let’s hope somebody will come to us with a fantastic script that would do justice to him as an actor."
Vinod Khanna received a Filmfare lifetime achievement award in 1999, after working for over three decades in Bollywood on screen and behind the camera as a producer.
Akshaye added that he is also pleased so far with his fledgling career.
"I am happy with whatever I have got professionally. I am happy that the industry and people have accepted me as an actor. No regrets as such. You learn from what you do. I am still learning."
