Mansukhani plans 'Dostana 2'

Director Tarun Mansukhani is planning a sequel to his smash hit comedy Dostana.

Mansukhani said that he hopes Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham will reprise their lead roles as best friends who pretend to be a gay couple.

He told IANS: "Dostana is about friendship... the friendship between Sam (Abhishek) and Kunal (Abraham). If I ever were to venture on Dostana 2, it can only be with Sam and Kunal that can only be played by AB and John."

Mansukhani added that he was proud to help raise homosexuality as an issue in Bollywood, saying: "I didn't expect people to walk out of the theatre saying 'Hey! I'm okay with homosexuality'. I wanted them to walk out laughing and then later when the entire family was sitting at the dinner table laughing about the film, I was hoping that someone would continue the discussion.

"And I achieved that. I'm proud to say that I've made homosexuality come out of the closet and on to the dinner table."
