Nudity causes stir in Bollywood

The Indian film industry has become less prudish when it comes to nudity, according to reports.

Veteran producer-director Mahesh Bhatt shot one of Bollywood's boldest kissing scenes in his recent film Murder, says The AFP.

He told the news agency: "We all have to change with the times... In a globalised world, you cannot hold your thoughts.

"Murder was about promiscuity and an extra-marital affair. It would have got an 'A' certificate anyway."

Recent hit New York also featured some risqué moments, while Neil Nitin Mukesh was filmed nude in Jail.

Kareena Kapoor recently filmed a kissing scene for Kambakht Ishq - a move that she has defended.

"I am a professional actor and I will do anything that a role demands," she said. "If there is a need for it and the script demands it, then you have to do it."
