Rai Bachchan's character will study the martial art on screen with Rajnikant in the Tamil science-fiction film.
A source told Sampurn: "Ramesh [a karate expert] is teaching Aishwarya the basics of karate for now. In the movie, Aishwarya Rai and the other girls in the film will be learning karate from her hero.
"Rajnikant is already trained in karate so he will not have to train himself."
Endhiran, which also stars Danny Dezongpa and Santhanam, is scheduled for release in April 2010.
