Akshay defends kiss with Denise Richards

Akshay Kumar has revealed his surprise at the Indian media’s reaction to his on-screen kisses with co-stars Kareena Kapoor and Denise Richards in Kambakkht Ishq.

The hit comedy sees Kumar playing a renowned Hollywood stuntman who is unable to find his dream woman.

Kumar commented on the media frenzy: "This is a film that takes us to Hollywood and the culture out there is to kiss and show."

On Denise Richards, he said: "Moreover, my kisses with Denise are quite casual. It's the culture thing in the West where people do plant a peck on your cheek when they cross their path. It isn't like we have indulged into any kind of passionate kissing… Kambakkht Ishq is a lot more than just the kisses."

The former Bond girl recently described Akshay Kumar as Bollywood’s sexiest actor.

Kumar added: "Denise comes from a different background and has Western sensibilities. She has a different mindset and one must appreciate that people from the West are open about their feelings.

"However, we should respect both the cultures."
