'Kambakkht Ishq' is a box office hit

Sabir Khan's Kambakkht Ishq has taken Rs 460m (£5.9 million) during its opening weekend.

The film, which was released worldwide on July 3, opened at number seven in the UK charts after taking an estimated £300,000.

Nandu Ahuja, of distribution company Eros International, described the movie's performance at the domestic box office as "fabulous" despite heavy monsoon rains in India.

Kambakkht Ishq, which stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, also features cameos from Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh.
