The actress, who has starred in Mr & Mrs Iyer, Page Three and Omkara, said that she does not identify with the women she has portrayed.
"For instance my character in Page Three was very serious and earnest," she told Bolly Spice. "I keep getting roles of women who are earnest, moralistic and serious. But I'm not really like that in real life."
The Bollywood star is currently working on two films, Wake Up Sid and Mirch.
In Wake Up Sid, she plays a graduate who arrives in Mumbai with dreams of being a writer, only to fall in love with a man with completely different aspirations.
Mirch will see Sen Sharma tackle the topic of ambitious women, playing a Rajasthani queen living in contemporary India.
