Basu no longer in film with Billy Zane

Producer Smita Thackeray has pulled out of Bipasha Basu’s first Hollywood project, leading to the film being axed.

The actress would have co-starred with Titanic actor Billy Zane and Bollywood star Rajvirr in the romantic thriller.

According to reports, there was controversy over the casting of Rajvirr, despite Thackeray’s insistence that the Kaise Kahen actor stay in the male lead role.

Basu was to be the love interest, and would have reportedly have had sex scenes with both Zane and Rajvirr.

Thakeray cited personal and professional reasons for her departure. The film, as yet untitled, was to be directed by David Silverman, who has helmed Monsters Inc. and The Simpsons.
