Mallika Sherawat to receive LA honour

Mallika Sherawat is to be made an official resident of Los Angeles by the city's mayor this month, it has been reported.

The actress and model will be presented with a special award by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former Mayor Richard Riordan on August 14 at the Council Chambers, Bolly Spice reports.

Sherawat's letter of invitation read: "I invite you along with family and friends to join the Los Angeles City Council and mayor in a council presentation recognising your extraordinary contributions to our great city."

The Indian star is reportedly considering making the American city her place of residence full-time.
