Shetty denies marriage rumour

Shilpa Shetty has denied rumours that she is to get married in autumn, despite her father disclosing the information in court in order to claim his passport.

Surat Surendra Shetty had his passport taken away by authorities in India after threatening a man for harassing the Celebrity Big Brother star.

The actress claimed instead that her father needs the passport to fly out to the Maldives for her boyfriend Raj Kundra's birthday.

In an interview with The Times of India, Shetty said: "The passport is certainly not meant for my wedding, please! It’s not happening in October, November, December or any of the dates that have been fixed for my wedding in the media.

"Raj and I will announce the date from the rooftops and invite the entire press corps to be part of the baraat when it happens. In the meanwhile, please leave my father alone."

Commenting on her father's situation, she added: "We all respect the judiciary. But it’s very humiliating for any daughter to have her father rushing to another town for his passport.

"It’s even more humiliating to have erroneous media reports being put out about one’s father. He had applied for his passport a few months ago."
