The performer said that the opportunity to star in a David Dhawan film opposite Zayed Khan and to sing a piece of music with Sanjay Dutt was too tempting to turn down.
"At the end of the day I am not a star daughter," Choudry explained. "I do not have a Godfather and I am not willing to take any shortcuts to fame. Shahid No.1 is something I will never regret."
She added that hard work is part of becoming a Bollywood performer and spoke highly of the actors she worked with on the project, in particular Zayed and Fardeen Khan.
Choudry revealed: "Zayed, Fardeen and I had been friends long before. I adore them and their family.
"Both he and Zayed were thrilled that I was cast in the film and they were a joy to work with. We had a blast."
