Shiney Ahuja breaks down in court

Shiney Ahuja's trial for allegedly raping his maid has been delayed to allow the actor to get immediate medical attention for a slipped disc.

The Gangster star was formally charged in August with raping the young woman after he called her to his room on the pretext of needing a glass of water.

According to reports, Ahuja was seen crying and wincing in pain when going to court. At one point he was taken out of the courtroom and made to lie on a bench.

His lawyer Sameer Nagare has applied to the court for the actor to be taken to a nearby hospital for treatment after claiming that he has a history of back problems.

Ahuja was refused bail last month by a fast-track court amid fears that he will try to influence any potential witnesses for the prosecution.
