Ahuja's wife speaks about jail 'trauma'

Shiney Ahuja's wife Anupam has said that the star needs time to heal from his experience of being in custody for over three months.

The actor was arrested in June for the alleged rape of his domestic servant in their home in Mumbai.

Ahuja was given bail last week on the condition that he does not leave Mumbai or attempt to influence prosecution witnesses.

Anupam told IANS: "He needs to heal physically and emotionally. Now begins the second phase of my struggle.

"But you know what? I can't seem to feel any bitterness. God is great. The judiciary system in our country is great."

She added that she expected her husband to be given bail: "Do you know when I last met Shiney in court on September 25, he was in acute pain.

"I think he was doing something in jail when something in his back got severely strained. He told me he had dreamt of our daughter.

"And the same day my parents in Delhi told me Arshiya had woken up calling out, 'Papa'. I saw that as a premonition for Shiney's freedom."
