Priyadarshan, who won a National award for Kanchivaram last year, said that Khan had shown a firm interest in the project.
He told PTI: "My next film is a meaningful and realistic take on AIDS. I have narrated the story to Aamir and he really liked it, though I have not presented him a bound script yet."
Khan is currently filming 3 Idiots, which is scheduled for release in India on Christmas Day.
