Mukherjee to star in US indie film

Tanisha Mukherjee will reportedly appear in an independent Hollywood movie.

Mid Day reports that the actress has been staying with friends in LA while shooting the unnamed film.

"The role requires an Indian girl and Tanisha fits the bill. Also she's not too excited with the kind of work coming her way here, which is why she was more than willing to do this project," said a source.

Mukherjee was apparently cast in the role after she met the project's producers on the set of My Name is Khan.

The picture focuses on an Indian girl who has to adjust to a new culture after moving to America.
