Shetty gets engaged to Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty has announced her engagement to her long-term millionaire boyfriend Raj Kundra.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner will have a low-key ceremony to mark the occasion at Kundra's home in Juhu, India.

A close friend of the star told the Mumbai Mirror: "Yes, it's happening very suddenly. Raj proposed to her two days ago when he gifted her a ring for Diwali.

"Raj is very keen that they formalise their relationship. Shilpa consulted her parents and accepted the proposal."

The source added: "Invitations have been sent out, but only to a few select people.

"As far as the film industry goes, very few of her colleagues know about her sudden mangni [engagement]. Shilpa is on top of the world."

It is rumoured that Shetty and Kundra will marry in 2010, shortly after her sister Shamita leaves the Bigg Boss house.
