Ranbir Kapoor: 'I am very ambitious'

Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that he is highly "ambitious", but has strong friendships with other rising Bollywood stars.

The 27-year old recently had box office success with the coming-of-age comedy Wake Up, Sid!.

When asked about his actor parents' influence on his acting career, he told The Times of India: "I am a very ambitious actor who has his eyes fixed on his targets, so I believe in taking my own decisions and making my own mistakes."

Kapoor also commented on press speculation about his relationships with co-stars such as Katrina Kaif.

"Everybody in the industry, from Sonam to Genelia, has been good friends, we often socialise even beyond work.

"But that’s how our generation is. I am even friends with many male actors like Imran [Khan] and Harman [Baweja].

"There is no rivalry, but of course there is a sense of competition which is important for your growth."
