Shahid Kapoor has denied that Kareena Kapoor is to co-star in his father's directorial debut.
The actress was reportedly asked to appear in the romantic comedy by Pankaj Kapur in 2007.
Speaking to The Times of India, Shahid said: "Dad didn't have an inkling of it (Mausum) in 2007.
"So the question of him thinking of casting anyone at that point is ludicrous."
The 28-year old also dismissed rumours that he is launching a nationwide hunt for the perfect female castmate.
