Johar: 'Kurbaan' is a love story'

Karan Johar has said that Kurbaan is primarily a love story, despite its terrorism storyline.

The producer told reporters that the thriller's main strength was the on-screen romance between real-life couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Johar revealed: "At the heart of it all, it's a love story. Of course emotional strength is the film's mainstay but I can confidently state that Kurbaan does scratch the surface more than any other film based on a similar subject. Still, we are not making a political or a social commentary here."

The film has attracted controversy for its risqué poster, which features Khan and Kapoor in a intimate pose.
