Vinod Khanna says that movies about last year's terrorist attacks in Mumbai are a tribute to victims.
The actor will next be seen in a television film based on the events of last November.
He told New Kerala: "Filmmakers don't and won't make a movie to play with people's emotions.
"If films on 26/11 are being made, they should try and show what happened to those who lost their near and dear ones - how they coped up with life and what after-effects it had on the common man."
Khanna revealed he lost three friends in the attacks that left more than 166 people dead and 300 injured.
The attacks have proved controversial for filmmakers, with one producer of a courtroom drama being accused of prejudicing the trial of the surviving gunman.
