The actor is to play a hitman with martial arts expertise in the comedy romance co-starring Deepika Padukone.
According to The Times of India, Padukone was keen to work with Khan despite her close association with his rival Shah Rukh Khan.

When asked about the choice of R. Murugadoss as director, producer Sajid Nadiadwala told the newspaper: "I loved Murugadoss's work in Ghajini and so did Salman. We were very clear about not getting the original Telugu director as I don't believe in letting the South Indian directors do the Hindi remakes."
