According to Mid Day, the actor, who is a car enthusiast in real life, enjoyed reading the script for Race 2 and wants to work on the film.
"John read the script and really liked it. After Dhoom, this is the second script he liked in just one sitting," a source revealed.
"The character he's playing is not only flamboyant but also has a huge collection of imported cars and bikes. Everyone knows that John is an avid bike rider."
However, Race 2 representative Ramesh Taurani denied that Abraham has been cast in the film.
"The script is being finalised and we have only cast Saif [Ali Khan] and Anil Kapoor till now," Taurani said.
"Akshaye [Khanna] and Katrina [Kaif] can't be in the sequel as they were bumped off in the first. But the script has the possibility of a few new faces besides John being added to the team."
