Amitabh Bachchan will reportedly receive a 'Lifetime Achievement' award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival's Asian Film Awards.

The 67-year-old Sarkar Raj star will appear in person to receive the gong, according to organisers of the March 22 event.

Bachchan has appeared in more than 100 films during his celebrated career, with recent credits including The Last Lear and Paa.

Festival director Shaw Soo Wei said Bachchan left a mark on world cinema "with tremendous talent, a rigorous work ethic and an uncanny ability to reinvent himself".

The 34th festival will be held from March 21 to April 6, during which over 300 films from 50 countries will screened in the region's 11 theatres.
