The Censor Board reportedly passed a kissing scene between actors Maradona Rebello and Amit Purohit in the movie without any cuts.
Another sequence where Rebello goes fully nude has also been passed, although with blurred elements.
It has been suggested that the film's director Sudipto Chattopadhyaya was upset that Pankh was being billed as explicit.
He has reportedly claimed that the kiss is actually a case of molestation as Purohit's character gets drunk and forcibly kisses Rebello's, who he believes is gay.
Chattopadhyaya also apparently said that the nude scene was pivotal to the plot.
