It has been suggested that the actor is playing a tough cop in Vipul Shah's remake of popular Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha.
Abraham's character is thought to be part of a special squad battling organised crime so he needed to work on his body for an authentic look.
Reports have said that Kaakha Kaakha, which Shah is producing, will be directed by Mumbai Meri Jaan director Nishikant Kamath and will star Asin Thottumkal as the female lead.
