The Slumdog Millionaire star decided to throw the luncheon to celebrate the end of shooting No Problem.
According to New Kerala, he only invited co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna and decided against involving Sushmita Sen, Neetu Chandra and Kangana Ranaut.
The star told Sampurn: "Only Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna and I were there from the cast. There were a few other associates. But that's it. We wanted it to be a stag party. Just so that Sanju, Akshaye and I could bond comfortably, just have a boys' afternoon."
He added that he was close with Khanna and Dutt, so the event was not a "farewell party".
