The director visited the festival last year to promote the film My Name Is Khan and reportedly enjoyed the experience.
"Missed being at Cannes this year… the energy… is infectious… it's truly a great blend of cinema and glamour," Johar posted on Twitter.
The likes of Mallika Sherawat, Deepika Padukone, Shekhar Kapur and Aishwarya Rai (who is a judge at this year's festival) are representing Bollywood at the 2010 event.
