Kaif gives respect to Bajpai at premiere

Katrina Kaif touched the feet of actor Manoj Bajpai as a sign of respect following the premiere of Rajneeti.

The political drama sees the actor making a return to mainstream Bollywood cinema after a series of Telugu hits.

His co-star Kaif made the gesture in front of the media gathered to film the stars leaving the premiere, the Mumbai Mirror has reported.

Bajpai immediately hugged the actress, and was then lifted onto the shoulders of his other co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

He told reporters that, twelve years earlier, actress Tabu had made the same gesture.

"Yes, that time Tabu did touch my feet. It is like history is repeating itself. Tabu was such a senior actress at the time. I was shocked and didn’t know what to say.

"[Director] Prakash Jha gave me the role of a lifetime. I am looking forward to working with him in Arakshan," he added.
