The actors, who appeared together in Vipul Shah's London Dreams, said that they would shoot in the region despite The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce's recent boycott of the Indian International Film Awards which were held in the Sri Lankan commercial capital Colombo.
"If people are in trouble in Sri Lanka, we should not dump them. We are here to entertain them. We won't be able to go to Kashmir, Afghanistan or Gujarat if this attitude continues," Khan told Real Bollywood.
Thottumkal added: "I respect the feelings of my fans and have not attended the awards function. However, I cannot take any decision regarding the shooting of Ready as it has been decided by the producer. I have signed a contract to shoot for them and I have to abide by that. I have already shown my concern and hope that they think about it."
Ready, which is directed by Annes Bazmee, is a remake of a Telugu film.
The remake will also be shot in Tamil but will be titled Uttama Puthiran instead.
