The gossip website suggested that Dutta, 32, has taken 28-year-old Singh's place as the female lead in the movie.
Some reports have suggested that Dutta got the nod above the younger actress because of her performance in the recently successful film Housefull.
Sources from the Desi Boyz camp have apparently denied or refused to comment on whether Dutta will be starring in the movie.
Desi Boyz is directed by debutant Rohit Dhawan, son of legendary filmmaker David, and has an all-star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
