The 27-year-old actress had to ditch her glamour girl style to play an insurgent fighting in the Indian jungle in the movie.
"A transition from a simple girl to a Naxalite (an India Maoist rebel) and picking up guns and fighting was difficult. It was also not easy to shoot in the jungles," Reddy told Real Bollywood.
"The script was really appealing since it dealt with an issue. I was not aware of the Naxalite movement a year-and-a-half ago. I want to dedicate myself towards it now."
Red Alert: The War Within, which is directed by Anant Mahadevan, also stars Suniel Shetty, Vinod Khanna, Seema Biswas and Gulshan Grover. It will be released on July 9.
