The actor revealed that he is still coming to terms with how well Prakash Jha's film has been received by Indian audiences.
"Really, this is one dream from which I don’t want to wake up. It is still sinking in but honestly, it has not yet sunk in totally. It all seems to be happening all around me and in such a manner that it is almost surreal. I can’t believe the kind of appreciation that is coming in from critics as well as audience," Rampal told Real Bollywwood.
"I am very happy for Prakash. It has taken him six years to get his script bang on and ultimately what he brought on screen did justify the presence of all the characters.
"It was a wonderful experience making the film and now we are enjoying the accolades and appreciation coming in. For that, I have to say a big thank you to the audience for accepting our film with such a big heart."
Raajneeti has grossed more than 900 million rupees (around £12.8 million) in India to date, which makes it the third highest earning Bollywood movie of all time behind 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
