Helmer Rajshree Ojha's second feature is based on Jane Austen's Emma, with Kapoor taking the title role.
Speaking to New Kerala, Ohja said: "The protagonist may be a woman, but it's not a women-centric film.
"I wanted to make a film on urban relationships. I never thought to make a comedy. When I was reading Emma I found that it was so relevant to our society and I decided make a film on it."
She added that in the future, she wanted to make Bollywood films that would be imitated by Hollywood directors, rather than Indian films inspired by Hollywood.
