Hard Kaur will make her acting debut in Patiala House, according to Real Bollywood.
The gossip site says that the star, who is famous for being India's first female rap artist, has an "eminent role in the movie".
Kaur has worked on a number of other Bollywood films but only in a musical capacity.
She wrote songs for Chance Pe Dance, Singh Is King, Bachna E Haseeno and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Patiala House also stars Akshay Kumar, Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia.
