The gossip site says that the actor will be playing an illusionist in the Bollywood remake of the 1969 movie.
The Italian Job is directed by filmmaking duo Abbas-Mustan, with whom Deol has worked on four previous occasions.
The movie also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Omi Vaidya and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
