The games are based on the main characters in the film, Neil Nitin Mukesh’s champion street fighter One-shot Nandu, and skater Pinky Palkar (played by Deepika Padukone).
Priyanka Khatri of YRF told The Hindustan Times: "One-shot Nandu’s game is based on boxing. You score depending on speed and how many opponents you knock out. Similarly, Pinky Palkar’s animated version spins, jumps and speed skates to score points."
After playing One-shot Nandu’s game, Mukesh said: "He jabs and throws punches in under a minute. It’s great fun."
The move into gaming is the latest promotional strategy from the production house after 3D lenticular posters were used in the marketing of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Lafangey Parindey releases worldwide on Friday, August 20.
