Producers are keen to sign Ahuja as they feel the controversy surrounding recent sexual assault charges against the actor will ensure high ratings, Mid Day reports.
A source told the tabloid: "The rape issue came as a shock to everyone, and overnight Shiney's fortunes changed. People want to know about the entire episode and he would certainly be the contestant to watch out for."
Although nothing has been finalised with Ahuja, other Bollywood figures have been confirmed for the programme.
"Many big names like Manoj Tiwari, Chunkey Pandey and Shaan are roped in to be part of the show," the source announced.
Salman Khan is scheduled to take over presenting duties from last season's host Amitabh Bachchan.
