The Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai actor apparently seized the opportunity to hire Sawant when Khan left to film Ra.One in London.
It has been suggested that Devgn wanted the trainer to help him look good for his latest role in Golmaal 3.
"Shah Rukh took off for London during Ra.One. Since Prashant had lot of time on hand, he started training Ajay," a source told Mid Day.
"Happy with the results, the actor decided to keep him around and make him his regular trainer."
