Bachchan and Streep to work on rom-com?

Meryl Streep has been reported to be starring with Amitabh Bachchan in a new romantic comedy.

According to Mid Day, the project will be directed by R. Balki, who recently worked with Bachchan on Paa, and is described as a cross-cultural love story.

When asked about the difficulties involved in signing Streep for the project, Balki told the tabloid: "That's the least of my worries. Getting an international star is not half as difficult as it is made out to be.

"My concern is to make sure that the script justifies the casting."

Veteran Bollywood actor Bachchan has not finalised his part in the film, but is said to be meeting Balki soon to discuss the script.

Bachchan won a Filmfare 'Best Actor' award for his performance in Paa.
