Real Bollywood claims that the director has agreed to star in Sushil Rajpal's new film Old Monk.
It has been suggested that director Rajpal originally wanted Ali to play the lead in his movie Antardwand but he was too busy with another project.
Ali has been known to step in front of the camera in the past. He had a cameo in Anurag Kashyap's 2004 film Black Friday and will also be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One later this year.
