Nandita Das has announced that she is directing a new film.
The director is planning to start work on Trafficking, a project which explores issues in the international trade of sex workers.
The filmmaker has been on a career break bringing up her son since the release of the critically-acclaimed Firaaq, The Times of India reports.
Das explained: "The producers approached me at the end of last year and we have been in serious talks since then."
"The basic pre-production starts only after March next year and the shoot will be done when I completely feel up to it. As being a mother is something new for me, I am taking one step at a time," added the actor-director.
