According to The Times of India, guests at the themed fancy dress party incuded Amitabh Bachchan and family, and former superstars Shatrughan Sinha and Vinod Khanna.
Writing on his Big B blog, Bachchan commented: "Shabana Azmi turned 60 yesterday and invited us for a celebration, where the theme was ‘Wear a head gear’!"
The 67-year-old actor added: "The theme could well have been nostalgia, because most of our colleagues of the '60’s and '70’s, the time when Shabana entered the industry, were there."
Azmi's partner Javed Akhtar is said to have presented the actor-turned-social activist with a cake in the design of a slum.
