Vivek Oberoi has called on the media to stop knocking the widely-criticised arrangements of the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

The actor said that the press should stop slating organisers of the event and instead encourage Indians to help their country.

"We have this habit of criticising a lot. We tend to raise finger on others," Oberoi told Mid Day.

"They have been doing a lot for our country. Rather than criticising them we should once just stand up and ask what can we do for our country.

"If something has gone wrong those people should be taken to task through a proper system."

The preparations for the games, which begin on Sunday, have been criticised on an international level because much of the athletes' accommodation is still unfinished.
